The 2025 Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship round is now accepting applications from both domestic and international students. These prestigious scholarships support students commencing a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at CDU between January 6 and March 31, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria for Charles Darwin University Scholarships
Domestic applicants include Australian citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, and NZ citizens.
Domestic Applicants:
-Closing Date: October 31, 2024
-Application Outcomes: Mid-December 2024
International Applicants
– Closing Date: September 30, 2024
– Application Outcomes: Mid-November 2024
Note: International RTP scholarship applications must be submitted by Monday, September 30, 2024. Applicants must have a CDU supervisor to apply.
Scholarship Benefits
The Australian Government RTP Stipend Scholarship is part of the ongoing 11 scholarships for Foreigner who wishes to study in Australia. This scholarship provide financial support to students with outstanding research potential undertaking an HDR at an Australian university. These stipends are competitive and not granted automatically to all students. The scholarships aim to assist with general living costs.
– Full-time Students: AU$32,192 per annum (2024 rate), tax-free, paid fortnightly
-Part-time Students: AU$16,096 per annum (2024 rate), taxable, paid fortnightly
Scholarships are typically offered for three years for a doctoral degree and two years for a research master’s degree. Recipients must be enrolled in an accredited HDR course at an Australian Higher Education Provider (HEP) and exhibit exceptional research potential.
Additional Conditions:
– Recipients must not receive income from other sources supporting general living costs that exceed 75% of the RTP stipend rate.
– Income unrelated to the course of study or income not intended to support general living costs is not considered.
