Eligibility for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships

- You must either have citizenship or refugee status in a Commonwealth country that is eligible, or be under British protection
- You must live in a Commonwealth country that is eligible without any breaks or interruptions
- You must have a first degree with a minimum of 2:1 grade. In some situations, a lower degree and enough relevant experience may be acceptable
- You must possess the required technology and internet connection to finish the online course
- You must not have spent one academic year or more in a country with high income, either studying or working
To apply for the scholarship, you must:
- Apply and secure admission to study an approved Master’s course at a participating UK university in addition to applying for the scholarship via the CSC’s online application system

- Apply for more than one course and to more than one university, but only accept one offer of a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship
- Provide proof of citizenship, residency, and academic qualifications
- Provide at least two references from individuals who can attest to your academic and professional abilities and potential
- Submit your application by 16:00 GMT on Thursday 28 March 2024
The scholarship is highly competitive and only a limited number of awards are available each year. The selection process is based on academic merit, development impact, and the quality of the study plan. The final decision is made by the CSC and the participating UK universities. Successful applicants will be notified by July 2024.
