In this post, I will introduce 15 journalism scholarships for international students who are planning to study journalism at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral level in 2024-2025.

The 15 journalism scholarships for international students 2024-2025 are:

1. International Center for Journalists Knight Fellowships for Media Leaders Globally 2024

This fellowship program is sponsored by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and it aims to foster innovative journalism practices across the globe.

The fellows work with media outlets, civil society organizations, and other partners in their regions to implement projects that improve the quality, impact, and sustainability of journalism. The fellowship duration is one year, and the fellows receive a monthly stipend, travel expenses, health insurance, and other support.

2. Aziz Foundation Journalism Scholarships for British Muslims 2024

4. EJN Call for Applications Reporting on Fisheries in Belize, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico 2024

The workshop aims to equip journalists in Belize and surrounding countries with the skills necessary to report on the protection and sustainable management of fisheries in the Mesoamerican Reef.

The workshop will take place in Belize City in April 2024, and it will include field trips, expert sessions, and mentoring. 6. Council for the Advancement of Science Writing Victor Cohn Medical Science Reporting Prize 2024

8. Reuters Institute Journalist Fellowship Programme 2024-2025

This fellowship programme is offered by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, and it provides an opportunity for mid-career journalists to undertake research projects on topics of their choice, related to their professional interests and challenges.

The fellows also participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences at the university, and benefit from the academic and social resources of Oxford. The fellowship duration is three, six, or nine months, and the fellows receive a monthly stipend, travel expenses, and accommodation.

9. World Press Institute Fellowship 2024

The fellows participate in a four-month immersion program in the United States, where they learn about the American media system, politics, culture, and society.

The fellows also travel to different states and cities, visit media outlets and institutions, meet with experts and leaders, and report on stories of their interest. 10. Thomson Reuters Foundation Reporting on Illicit Finance in Africa 2024

This program is offered by the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the global news and information provider Thomson Reuters.

The program aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of African journalists to investigate and report on illicit financial flows, tax abuse, and corruption in Africa. 14. UNESCO Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2024

This prize is established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and it honors a person, organization, or institution that has made a notable contribution to the defense and/or promotion of press freedom, especially in the face of danger.

The prize is named after Guillermo Cano Isaza, a Colombian journalist who was assassinated in 1986 for denouncing the activities of drug cartels.

The prize is open to candidates from any country, and the prize amount is $25,000. The nomination deadline is February 15, 2024.

15. One World Media Awards 2024

These awards are offered by One World Media, a UK-based charity that supports and celebrates media that covers global issues, especially from the perspectives of underrepresented communities and regions. The awards recognize excellence in various categories of media, such as documentary, radio, print, digital, television, and more.

The awards are open to journalists and media outlets from any country, and the winners receive a trophy and a certificate.
