To qualify for this scholarship, you need:

  • For incoming first-year students: A GPA of 3.25 or above, or a minimum score on one of these tests: ACT 22, SAT 1100, TOEFL 83, IELTS 6.5, or Duolingo 115.
  • For students transferring to the university: A GPA of 3.0 or above.

Once you get this scholarship, you can keep it for up to four years for first-year students and three years for transfer students, as long as you enroll in at least 12 credits each semester (excluding classes taken at other NDUS schools while at DSU) and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Starting Fall 2024, the university is also introducing New Academic Tiered Scholarships for top academic achievers.

These scholarships, including the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and Provost Scholarships, offer up to $2,000 per year, shared over two semesters. To renew these scholarships each year, you need to complete at least 24 credits with a GPA of 3.0/4.0.

Presidential Scholarship Requirement

  • Provost Scholarship: $500 for a high school GPA between 3.0 and 3.39, transfer GPA between 3.0 and 3.24, or specific test scores (ACT 22, SAT 1100, IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 83, Duolingo 115).

For transfer students, a GPA consideration applies if you’ve earned 24 or more credits. For all other new students, high school GPAs are used. GPA levels are determined by the first day of classes each semester.

Once you’re awarded a scholarship as a DSU student, you cannot switch between scholarship levels. Members of Phi Theta Kappa who graduate with associate degrees automatically qualify for the corresponding scholarship level. These scholarships can be combined with the DSU Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Scholarship and other DSU scholarships and waivers.
