Shockingly, the number of deaths resulting from driving over two years surpasses the total deaths in the United States during the Vietnam War.
This highlights the fact that driving is not only dangerous but also deadlier than some significant historical events.
Many drivers, especially new ones, may be unaware of these alarming statistics. The Driver’s Seat Writing Contest is designed to encourage candidates to emphasize the importance of safe and informed driving through their essays.
Here are some details about the scholarship:
- Eligibility: The scholarship is open to high school juniors, seniors, and college freshmen who are enrolled in an accredited school in the United States. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must submit an essay of less than 500 words answering the following questions:
- How important is driver’s education to reduce the number of deaths due to driving?
- What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?
- Have you ever had a car accident or seen your friends or family driving irresponsibly?
